For what it's worth, I feel sorry for the UK. Brits have been conned into making a bad decision by people who have systematically lied to them in order to advance their personal interest. The Brexit people voted for doesn't exist, the Brexit that's available is undesirable.
The EU and Japan are already strategic partners.
Today, they agree to recognise each other's data protection systems as 'equivalent'. This will create the world's largest area of safe transfers of data based on a high level of #DataProtection → europa.eu/!PH39qX

Trump is in Air Force One right now, it's only 9pm Helsinki time. He is likely watching the reaction. An almost universal condemnation, even among GOP politicians. Even he must realize he has stumbled into uncharted territory. How will he react?
President Trump says he holds the US and Russia responsible for breakdown in relationship: "I hold both countries responsible. I think that the United States has been foolish. I think we’ve all been foolish.” cnn.it/2uoJqQe
“If anyone watched Peter Strzok testify over the last couple of days – and I was in Brussels watching it – it was a disgrace to the FBI. It was a disgrace to our country, and you would say that was a total witch hunt.”
Trump: "My people came to me, [Director of National Intelligence] Dan Coats came to me, some others, they said they think it's Russia. I have President Putin. He just said it's not Russia. I will say this, I don't see any reason why it would be."
Putin: "Could you name a single fact that would definitively prove the collusion? This is utter nonsense, just like the president recently mentioned... There is no evidence when it comes to the actual facts, so we have to be guided by facts and not rumors."
Europe and China, America and Russia, today in Beijing and in Helsinki, are jointly responsible for improving the world order, not for destroying it. I hope this message reaches Helsinki. bit.ly/2up8gQ3
Prime Minister Theresa May says President Trump told her she should sue the European Union instead of negotiating. “He told me I should sue the EU - not go into negotiations, sue them. Actually, no, we’re going into negotiations with them."
Seriously. Look. Just look at it. This is the email Podesta was sent.
You're probably thinking "wow how come Google algorithms didn't catch this email, it's right there asking for your password?". Because the letters aren't English to trick the filters. Hackers are smart.
Please do read it. It says that the Russians attempted "for the first time" to penetrate email accounts at the domain "used by Clinton's personal office" on July 27, 2016, the day of Trump's statement. If you have evidence to the contrary, please pass it along.
This NYT “journalist” can’t explain how IT infiltration attempts in April could have been the result of a Trump presser months later. NEVER trust the fake news NYT. Here’s the indictment -> scribd.com/document/38379…

3 charts that expose what #Trump does not understand about #NATO. 1. US spends more on US defense than allies spend on their national defense 2. US spends much less on European defense than European allies do 3. European allies pay more than 75% of costs of NATO the organization
.@sarahkendzior: I think [the Russians] knew #Trump was very likely to win this election because they've been putting all sorts of things into play to insure that this was possible. This was a multi-year plan. They've been working at this goal for a long time. #AMJoy
I’ve honestly not seen a press conference so fundamentally dishonest. He’s lied about an interview he did last night and a press conference he gave last year. Why should we believe anything at all? Turn the cameras off
"Watching this administration tear up a diplomatic deal with Iran, use increasingly belligerent rhetoric about that nation, and assert that it can wage war without coming to Congress leads me to sound an alarm," warns @timkaine: on.theatln.tc/0XpKRna
#KONTRASTE
Tension between Turkish and German foreign ministers at #NATOSummit event over #Turkey's purchase of S-400 Russia missiles. Turkish FM also claims @realDonaldTrump wanted to sell Patriots to Turkey but Congress opposed to such deal.
Trump’s playbook with NATO, North Korea etc: 1) Create crisis with reckless rhetoric and dangerous escalation; 2) Claim “win” prematurely; 3) Leave; 4) Watch “deal” disintegrate because it was overhyped but 5) Relish the fact that the Trump base doesn’t know that or doesn’t care.
Spain's justice minister presented Congress with the new socialist government's plan to revive and expand state initiatives that would support the victims of dictator Francisco Franco, as well as make organizations honoring the dead dictator illegal. p.dw.com/p/31JOF
Trump arrived 30 minutes late to today’s NATO summit, missed his scheduled meetings with at least two world leaders, prompted the secretary general to call an emergency session, held an impromptu 35-minute news conference, and is now leaving for the airport go fly to London.
“They really stepped up their commitment and stepped it up like they never have before,” President Trump says of NATO countries. “We are doing numbers like they've never done before or ever seen before." cbsn.ws/2KN97V7
....On top of it all, Germany just started paying Russia, the country they want protection from, Billions of Dollars for their Energy needs coming out of a new pipeline from Russia. Not acceptable! All NATO Nations must meet their 2% commitment, and that must ultimately go to 4%!
In less than 2 years @NATO's Enhanced Forward Presence developed into a strong collective defense and deterrence structure. These are important steps in a long-term #NATO strategy to preserve peace and security. #NATOSummit#WeAreNATO
.@NATO is the most successful alliance in history. All #NATO allies have committed to extending this success through increased defense spending, deterrence and defense, and fighting terrorism. Weakness provokes; strength and cohesion protects. This remains our bedrock belief.
This is what happens when you have men in government who've been raised from birth to believe it's someone else's job to clean up after them. They throw tantrums when they finally make a mess no-one can fix. #Brexit
Die CDU-Abgeordnete #Strenz hat offenbar den @Nordkurier abmahnen lassen - es geht um die Formulierung "unter Korruptionsverdacht".

Judge Kavanaugh, Trump’s pick for the Supreme Court, wrote about Trump’s criminal investigation: “defer litigation and investigation until the President is out of office —we should not burden a sitting President with civil suits, criminal investigations, or criminal prosecutions”
